NorthStar's Wireless Division Wins TMA Installation Work

For Immediate Release.  February 13, 2007, Birmingham, Alabama:  NorthStar Communications Group (NorthStar) was selected by one of the nation's leading wireless carriers to install TMAs (Tower Mounted Amplifers) in approximately 250 sites across New York City.  TMAs are used to minimize call drops and loss of communications, and to provide more reliable service to customers.

NorthStar quickly assembled a team of fourteen crews to cover all areas of New York City, including the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island.  The project began during the second week of December 2006 and will be completed by the end of February 2007.  Because 90% of the sites are on rooftops, coordinating access to the sites has been one of the most time-consuming and challenging aspects of the project.  The crews have worked tirelessly seven days a week — including Christmas and New Year's Day — to meet the client's aggressive schedule.
