NorthStar Communications Group Certified for TL 9000

For Immediate Release.  April 20, 2005, Birmingham, Alabama:  NorthStar Communications Group (NorthStar), a leading provider of wireless and wireline infrastructure services, announced today that the company has been certified for TL 9000 certification by KEMA Registered Quality, a third party registrar.  TL 9000 is the internationally recognized standard for quality management in the telecommunications industry.  KEMA's recommendation was based on extensive audits of NorthStar's Quality Management System.

NorthStar's pursuit of TL 9000 certification began after achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification in October 2003.  ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9000 is a set of standards recognized internationally as a sign of quality assurance.  ISO 9000 compliance serves as the base requirement for TL 9000 certification.

"TL 9000 certification enables NorthStar to respond to our customers' needs in an increasingly competitive environment," stated Bill Johnson, president and CEO of NorthStar.

"Exceeding customer expectations through superior performance, quality and continuous improvement are part of NorthStar's culture.  It is gratifying to have this recognized through the certification process," added Tom Anderson, NorthStar's senior vice president.

Joe Lillie, senior director of quality at NorthStar commented, "The NorthStar Quality Management System was built from the bottom-up by employees who used the processes on a daily basis.  This certification is a clear recognition that our processes are focused on customers and are continuously improved using all available input sources."

NorthStar Communications Group, Inc., with corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, serves as the stand-alone telecommunications subsidiary of BE&K, Inc. NorthStar offers a full suite of infrastructure, network, and outsourcing services to the communications industry at large.
