NorthStar Employees Achieve High Level Positions With Professional Society

For Immediate Release.  July 1, 2003, Birmingham, Alabama:  NorthStar Communications Group (NorthStar) announced the appointment of Markus Snowden, NorthStar's Director of Enterprise Network Services, as Chairman for the Individual Benefits and Services Committee (IB&SC) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) for 2004.

Mr. Snowden has been with NorthStar for more than ten years and been an active member of the IEEE since 1998.  Prior to his selection as the 2004 Chairman for the IB&SC, he served the IEEE in various leadership positions including IB&SC GOLD (Graduate of the Last Decade) and IEEE-USA representative.  "Providing our members with the most comprehensive suite of benefits and streamlining the IB&SC operations processes is my goal and mission as Chairman," commented Mr. Snowden, following his appointment.  "Through Mr. Snowden's proven leadership at NorthStar, we are confident in his ability to support the interests and integrity of the IEEE organization and contribute lasting changes to its future," stated Bill Johnson, president and CEO of NorthStar.

Joseph Lillie, NorthStar's Business Development Manager, has been a member of the IEEE since 1972 and currently serves the IEEE as Treasurer of the Regional Activities Board (RAB) and member of the Finance Committee.  Recently, Lillie was appointed by IEEE-USA as Chair of the National Engineers' Week Steering Committee for 2004.  "NorthStar is proud that our employees are providing leadership for one of the industry's top professional societies and considers this a testament to the strength and vision of our team," said Mr. Johnson.
